REFLECTING
By my third tour of the war
I’d come to know the way of it
And though it wasn’t wise
There was no other place I fit
I understood that we weren’t there
To try and win the fight
But I just couldn’t leave my friends
And stay home sitting tight
I’d rather be with them I thought
Inside that world of wrong
For they were more than family
And with them I did belong
Do ask me how it was my friend
For I will tell you not
And all that I can say of them
Is they are not forgot
