I wish to declare that I journey in search of peace, of freedom, for humanity.
The gaze every pure heart bestows on us,
Taking bile from the world and giving a flower,
Bringing life a heavenly calm and at a distance, the natural radiance of the dawn.
What place for freedom, beneath a soldier’s boot?
What place for peace, on the lips of cruelty?
Even now I can feel the days collapsing, bent double under their schemes.
Let hope not go astray
Let the light of every nation not perish.
Let the bullets that open fire not be disguised as purses.
Let no blasphemy touch the earth where the dead have fallen.
God knows this is my desire…
To return to the heavenly glory of creation
To return to the pathway of love
To return to peace.
