ANOTHER FARAWAY CHRISTMAS

Here’s to all the men and women who’ve worn the greens or blues
In desert sands or frozen lands… while paying daily dues
To all of those in marble rows who faced the final call
Their holidays spent in hole or tent… or with backs against a wall

God bless they who are away today… others’ freedoms to assure
In that far land, God guide their hands as they seek for those a cure
On that special day, half a world away, let them know this… on their side of earth
They are closer by far, to where one night shined a star, over a manger and a precious birth

Our thanks to You and to Your Son too, in this His season so bright
Be with them there in that place where… a Christmas has never been white
