SWEET DREAMS
You move me to thank my God
for your soul that sweetly sings,
for your passion, grace and fire
and your love of gentle things,
like those soft falling snowflakes
through the window on your lawn,
as you share a hot cup of coffee
with your soul mate, dreaming on.

Author’s Note: Remembering Tina Rice. I had written this [the above poem] for Tina and was hoping to post it soon, but I couldn’t come up with a title. After I heard the shocking news, I finally thought of one. I looked forward to reading her posts and truly appreciated her sweet spirit. I’m going to miss her.
PRAYER FOR KAREN
When I heard the news that Tina died,
I bowed my head and said a prayer,
asking God, “Please comfort Karen,
and let her know that you are there.
Please hold her hand now missing Tina’s,
and be with her through the days ahead,
the weeks, the months and coming years;
in short, please, Lord, be her daily bread.
She needs you now that Tina’s gone
(though friends and family hug her hard)
for come the snowfall, there will be Karen,
sipping coffee alone, staring at the yard.”
