Richard W. Reith

We stroll through the woodlands of life
hand in hand,
heart to heart.
At the other side of the forest
lies a wondrous world
bequeathed to us by God.

The journey is often wearisome,
and clashes with the hazards of the wild
often leave us bruised and bloody.
At times, perils must be fought
before we have bound our wounds from the last battle.

Yet through it all
we know
we will persevere –
As long as we have God
and each other.

Each day we go deeper into the forest.
Only God knows its depth and breadth
or how much farther there is to go.
Our certainty resides in our trust in Him.
And as my hand enfolds yours,
we journey in awe of our trust
in each other.
