SHE WANTS, HE FEARS
He sits next to the one he loves
Not knowing what to say.
Pains in life keep entrapping him,
carrying him away.
For deep within he knows the fears
From a lifetime of degraded dreams.
Commitment professed to be for life
Never turns out the way it seems
Broken heart and long lost hope.
The walls he built are strong,
And the intense fear of felling them
he knows in his heart is wrong.
She craves his love, to hold, to touch
To merge two lives into one.
But in solitary fear he’ll shy away
Until his dread is finally outrun.
