NEVER TO TRUST

Why would her heart be so filled with fear;
Beating strong, (yet) in a dreadful sphere.
Recipient of fidelity and steadfast love,
They knew special connection from above.

The rules of love demanded he must,
give to her unconditional trust.
His heart her refuge, his arms her home,
but trust in his love he’d never known.

Devotion is his world, to the end,
and though doubt has lost him his best friend.
He’ll remember their wonders from the start,
and regret that trust could not fill her heart.

They walked together hand in hand,
In worlds where love was their wedding band
And though her fears tore them apart,
She still owns his trust, possesses his heart.
