SHE’LL CRY

She’ll cry through ten hours of labor,
Giving birth to each precious child.
A Mother knows time is so fleeting
For they’re hers for just a short while.

She’ll cry with every lost tooth,
Saving each, a sweet treasured prize.
A Mother becomes multi-talented,
An expert in her children’s eyes.

She’ll cry on the first day of school,
Standing just outside the classroom door.
It’s hard for a Mother to know,
She’s not needed ‘that much’ any more.

She’ll cry with every wet drawing,
They hand her with tiny ink stained hands,
Masterpieces she’ll forever cherish,
All part of Creator’s great plans.

She’ll cry when they go off to college,
And more when they graduate.
Though grown, they’re still her babies;
In God a Mother leaves her faith.

She’ll cry when he takes that oath,
To serve his Country with pride.
Patience, a virtue she’s learning,
While boarding the ‘roller coaster ride’.

She’ll cry with each of his letters,
Reading with vision so blurred.
Each line is etched in her heart,
For, a Mother cherishes each word.

She’ll cry right there in the airport,
Searching through a vast ‘sea’ of men.
His face, she finds in an instant,
Her baby is home safe again.

She’ll cry as she smiles down from Heaven,
On the family her love helped create,
God cradles each Mother with His rainbows,
While in Heaven, shell patiently wait.
