SATAN, THE ACCUSER
Old Satan the accuser
keeps calling me a loser
throwing my sins in my face
No matter how hard you try
you’re just living a lie
Christian your life’s a disgrace
You don’t have no shout
your head’s filled with doubt
the Savior has gone from your salt
How can you go on
saying your one of God’s own
when your heart is burdened with fault?
(Chorus)
Thank God I’m free
Satan can’t destroy me
I’ve been washed in the Blood of the Lamb
So get thee behind me
you can no longer bind me
I’m a child of the great I Am
---------------------
Well I’ve got news for ya devil
and it’s on the level
I’ve fallen a time or two
But when I’m knocked down
God’s still around
no matter what you say or do
It ain’t none of your business
but I have God’s forgiveness
and Jesus ain’t through with me yet
The sins you remember
are forgiven forever
my God is faithful to forget
(repeat chorus)
TAG:
So get thee behind me,
you can no longer bind me;
I’m a child of the great I Am.

Author’s Note: Unfortunately Tony, my good friend, the old devil ain’t the only one who accuses us of stuff we have no control over. I have found in the last three or so years that I have been challenged by a number of people, concerning a number of things, which were of no consequence, just to ripple my ever loving pond. (whew)! But I have also learned that if I meet that challenge head on it goes away. You have done remarkably well Old Cobber in the last two years. I have seen a growth and a strength in you that you fail to see, both in your work, and in Christ. So hang in there mate cause it’s gonna do nuthin’ but get better. I had a wise lady once tell me this, a number of years ago, when Nancy and I were going through the fire, and it applies today. She said, “When the devil comes a knockin’, let Jesus answer the door.” Very wise advice.
I wrote the above poem during one such time in my life.
Love ya Mate…
