Anthony W. Pahl

The sadness and the horror felt by the witnesses to the aftermath of war
is as great and deep as any and all that any wretched warrior ever bore.
In their separate perceptions and knowledge of all these awful things
the flow of understanding in their hearts dilutes the venom of war’s sting.

Though worlds apart their arms extend through time and circumstance;
hands seek hands to create the bonds that strengthen hope’s advance.
Upon Freedom is built a canopy stretching over times of peace and war
and the ligament of understanding guarantees that love and trust endure.
