SOULMATE
Lindy is my soul mate, so lovely and gentle is she,
She's a lady, a princess, the whole world to me.
From the moment I saw her, I knew she was for me,
And together forever we just had to be.
I'd searched so long for her, my soul mate,
Now I'd found her, 'twas determined by fate.
At the end of the day when my work is done,
I rush to be with her, she's my special one,
She is kind, caring, gentle and ever so sweet,
And the love that she gives me is so complete.
With me she'll stay till the end of my life,
She's my best friend, my lover and my wife.
She is always there for me in pleasure or strife,
And if I should lose her it would cut like a knife.
To some I'm a loser, just another dumb vet,
But to her I'm a hero, on that you can bet.
Sometimes I hurt her and I see pain in her eyes,
And the smile that she gives me is no disguise.
Tears of remorse run down my face,
And I wish I could be in some other place.
I see her pain and I feel a drudge,
But she forgives me and does not judge.
So with her I'll stay till the end of my life,
My soul mate, my friend, my lover and wife.
