I BEG YOUR PARDON

I struggle rather mightily
to write substandard poetry

I like to think I’m versatile
and can master any task

Whatever critics throw at me,
I can mimic all, then bask

But you don’t know the half of it
as far as sub-standards go;

Such a thing does not exist, you see
within this writer’s realm;

For what I say, goes… you know,
for I am at the helm!
