They died believing no one cared,
if they made it… how they fared,
Now dead, receiving tributes due,
what was it worth to me and you?

They sacrificed their very lives,
evoking tears from moms and wives,
for country, home, for peace on earth;
so looking back, what was it worth?

They could not see our waving flags
from there inside their body bags,
where lay the cost of bloody war:
our nation’s youth and tender scar.

For what it’s worth, we care today
aware we must find a better way,
thanks to some bros who kept a vow
and built The Wall before us now.
