IN A HOODED COURT
Who really can say where the hooded men are
and what their questioning is trying to prove.
With the isolation of interrogation’
handcuffs are there to restrict you to move.
You are punched, slapped and kicked
and you hear every click
with a blindfold placed over your eyes.
Then you have to embrace
the gun in your face
as you wonder if you’ll be left there for dead.
When it’s over and done
and the chambers been spun
the hooded men say
It’s your lucky day.
