CHRISTMAS IN THE ARMY
I won’t be home for Christmas the army has me over here,
So carve up the Christmas turkey and open another beer.
Remember me and make a toast, good health in the year to come.
Then in a moments silence say a prayer for everyone.
Soon we’ll see you all again and join in with every sound.
Amid the laughter there at Christmas, maybe next time around.
Christmas in the army is like another family here.
We look after one another and create some Christmas cheer.
We are enjoying Christmas in the army with all our hearts.
And hope and pray that peace will come after Christmas time departs.
