RETURN OF THE GHETTO BLASTER

another retro disaster
blowing peace and quiet in the hood
into the not so sweet hereafter

a bug is doing the backstroke in my coffee
but I don’t complain old son because if anyone hears
everyone will want one

couples in warm embrace
gazing into each other’s face
as girls in high-heeled shoes pass
clip clopping like horses in a race

hello says the tramp
what can I do with that line
was hello for his benefit
or mine

a young guy that I see
raggedy ass with clothes
in need
of an urgent visit to the laundry

must finish this coffee
and be off to see what I can see
notwithstanding the sonic disaster
with the return of the ghetto blaster
