LAUGHTER

are like a dog barking
some like chickens cackling
some laugh through their noses
some he he, some ha ha
some snort snort
and drop roses
some loud
some merely a smirk
to laugh at yourself for
for being a jerk
sometimes you laugh so hard it hurts
sometimes you laugh
so you won’t cry
some have one last giggle
before they die
piss and moan
grimace and groan
and you will do it alone
it’s never very much fun
to drown in a pool
of self pity
some times
you will have to
walk that extra mile
so you can see a genuine
smile
from now until the great hereafter
the best thing in life is genuine
