CAN’T THINK OF A TITLE RIGHT NOW

The clarinet leads me down an unknown path
and leaves me with a word too hard to rhyme.
This seems to happen all the time.
I went down that path almost seduced
by the sheer beautiful symmetry of it all.
This is not the last
it’s just the first of many firsts.
Just fresh from an argument with a friend
politics can get your blood up and lead
to unfortunate outbursts.
Sometimes it don’t pay to have your say.
Sometimes it’s just wrong to sing that song.
Silence sometimes is more powerful than words.
Perhaps it doesn’t matter what you think
or how you feel
when a friend’s head is set in stone
maybe it’s just better to leave the subject alone.
It’s not that he will be hit by a bus
we all have our delusions
and it will be ever thus.
So back to the music
so we all can sleep
and dance the night fantastic
with partners real and orgasmic.
It is to live life large that this journey is about
because all too soon we all check out.
Jelly Roll Justice on the OZ
I would say “zed”
if I had better British breeding
but “zee” is the rhyme sound I’m needing.
So I’ll just have to milk that cow
and take that to the bank
because I
can’t think of a title right now.
