THOSE FORGOTTEN
(for Jerry and John Thomas… far away)
I carried you both
out of that war.
Time has gone away
as the muscle of my arms
and legs,
when I carried you
has gone.
Time is just silver hair and
memories
and touching names upon a granite wall.
I rage at that war
every damn day
Bros!
I carry death
and tired dreams
and it never ends.
That is what I do.
I carry it all.
Can Do!
