LET ME GO

I know it is over, memories.
We said our goodbyes
But I can’t go a day without your face
Going through my mind.
In fact, not a single minute
Passes without you in it
Your friendship, your protection
memories of you
Won’t let me go, memories
Won’t let me go.

If this is for the best
Why are you still in my mind
Are you in my soul, I can’t let go
I can’t talk to you, hours I pray
Hope that you’re in a wonderful place
They put it behind, no matter how I try
I can’t do the same
Won’t let me go, memories
Won’t let me go

It just isn’t right
I’ve been two thousand miles
Down a dead-end road
Let me let go, memories, won’t you
I just gotta know,
If this is for the best
Why are you still in my mind
Are you still in my soul, I can’t let go.

The lights of this familiar city shine
But they don’t hold a fascination for me
I try to find the bright side, can’t
But everywhere I look
Everywhere I turn, darkness all I see
Won’t let me go, memories, won’t you
Let me let go.

It just isn’t right
I’ve been two thousand miles
Down a dead-end road
Oh, let me go, memories, won’t you
Yeah, you’re still in my soul, won’t let me go
Memories, won’t let me go.
