SAY IT

If you want to say something then say it my friend,
I’ll not attack what you say nor will I defend,
For what ever you say will not alter my view,
Lest it is a truth that I never knew.
To argue is pointless for my different way,
Will not your opinion trouble or sway,
For to want my advice you would ask without thought,
As I would seek yours to determine my port,
Arguments are conflicts to establish who wears,
The crown of the scholar who conceitedly bears,
The pain of his vanity and counterfeit claim,
To higher intelligence where he offers his name.
So speak and be heard but know that it’s true,
That whatever you say draws a picture of you.
