PLEASE, MY DEAR MOTHER

IWVPA Club Recognition of Outstanding Non-War Related Writing: January 7, 2009
Awarded: January 7, 2009
Please my dear mother, please let me live,
Please my dear mother I have so much to give.
Waste not my life before it begins,
For in murdering me nobody wins.
Please give me hope, that all love is not lost,
For in murdering me, lost love is the cost.
Please dear mother please honour my right,
To see through clear eyes loves living light.
To stand on my feet to smile and to cry,
To be precious to someone until I might die,
Having walked in the rain and basked in the sun,
Doing all those nice things my mother has done
Please my dear mother, please let me live,
Please my dear mother I have so much to give.
