Where is our God when tragedies occur?
We see no Jesus; no figure clothed in white!
Where are the Angels, shimmering and pure?
Is our Lord there present at the tragic site?
Catastrophe and chaos, death and horror reigns!
The Devil’s fires burning: pain and anguish rife,
Everywhere you look billowing smoke and flames,
Great and instant grieving at the loss of life!
Look and you will see him; God is everywhere,
He’s in the police and firemen rushing in to aid,
He’s alive inside the doctors – calming great despair,
He’s in the hearts of members of the emergency brigade.
He’s in the nurses trying to save so many souls,
And in strangers volunteering – sifting through the coals.
