WHEN WE WERE TWO FEET TALL

You know, I think it’s people,
Not nation’s flags and Kings,
Who erect the heroes’ steeple,
Where the sounds of Angels sing.
Tis not the pride of countries,
It is the pride of men,
Who for themselves their duties,
Begin and start again.
Tis only when directed,
To risk their lives in war,
That nations are affected,
That Governments claim it all.
But then, we learnt the Anthem,
When we were two feet tall.
