Colin F. Jones

We stand by our words as we do our swords,
Or we are not good men
For we can raise the anger of foul hoards,
With the blade and the pen.
Sometimes we kill against our will,
If by it the war will end,
Lest we do it for a heartfelt thrill,
Then our demise we comprehend.
All good thought is good thought you know,
No matter how it is proclaimed,
It is he who waits or will not go,
Who is to his doubts long is chained.
And I think perhaps that this is so,
Or what some men I know have claimed.
