WE GOOD FOLK

The people elect; the people support,
And the people send armies to war,
When they come home the soldiers who fought,
Are proud of themselves and their Corps.
In a democratic world to keep themselves free,
The people raise large armies to fight,
And condone the decisions the leader’s decree,
In essence as Democratically right.
Tis when soldiers start dying and the media foe
Begin reporting their treason to all,
That the people feel guilty that their sons had to go,
Responding to the national call.
Yes, and when they come home, not wanting to know,
The people don’t care anymore (if they fall).
