‘Tis knowing that a man stands at his back,
Ready to go when one has done his time,
A man with steady gaze who does not lack,
What it takes to join the fearful line.
Not all soldiers reach the field of battle,
Though all stand ready eager and so proud,
For each to the other wares a linking shackle,
For to the brotherhood of warriors they have vowed.
Let us acknowledge those who did not make it,
To where the torrid conflicts were cruelly waged,
Who were prepared to go lets not mistake it,
To wherever a righteous battle raged.
For they are as brave as those who fought it,
That was not for them by history staged.
