TO WAR, TO WAR WE GO, AND WHAT FOR?

Tis not parents who send their children to war,
It is those whom the people claim to deplore!!
Parents are happy to believe the lies they are told
Because they fear the reprisals that refusal unfolds.
They say it is right though they know it is wrong,
But are upheld by pride and the national throng
That gather in churches and temples to pray
Because they never were taught to have a free say,
But to submit to the rules that from childhood they learned,
Lest they thought for themselves that their fingers were burned.
Freedom is doing what freedom denies,
Living in fear and directed by lies…
For parents don’t send their children away;
They go because parents don’t have anything to say.
