TO THE SERVING SOLDIER

Let faith work as his armour
That mocks the devil’s shroud,
As he serves with great honour,
To do his country proud.
Let the Angel on is shoulder
Link him closely to his God
That he will grow more bolder
As he stands on foreign sod.
He is a soldier and disciple
Who serves a gracious Lord,
Though he is forced to do it grimly,
With a righteous bladed sword,
And though he may yet view it dimly,
He’s a hero: our reward.
