THEY CANNOT ALL BE TRUE

They cannot all be true but can all be wrong,
Yet to some religious faith most folk belong,
All thinking that their views are truly right,
All shining glorious light beams in the night.
But where was God in the holocaust of Jews,
Or when ethnic cleansing in Serbia filled the news
Or when the Ku Klux Klan with a cross of fire,
Showed the racist venom of extreme religious desire.
All that is claimed resides only in the mind,
For in event no reality is defined,
Wrapped in faith, which is a hopeful dream,
Yet practiced in a way that is extreme.
And still there are no trails that lead to peace,
And never will be until false faith doth cease.
