(North Vietnamese Army)

Well the noggy who had little to fight the war with,
Turned the world’s biggest army into a bit of a myth,
He fought for survival and he fought his war well,
And we who were their shared with him the hell.
We had the war planes the tanks and the guns,
Our artillery bases were surrounded by bunds
But he kept on coming defending his home,
While most of our soldiers longed for his own.
And we all thought that we had to be there,
That the people back home just did not care,
so brainwashed we were we despised the brave few,
Who protested the war as our casualties grew.
But it was the “ultimate sacrifice” in battle to die!
Though the choice was not ours and such words were a lie.
