THE GUN

The gun is the symbol of war;
the soldier its slave;
The tools with which governments procure;
the powers they crave.
How generals obtain their fame,
Through the spilling of blood,
While those who spill it without gain,
Reap only the mud.
God is the mightiest gun,
His power is the emptied shell,
For when all is said and done,
All who resist are sent to Hell.
But never are the objectives won,
For the winner is lost as well.
