The Lord is my guardian, my helper my friend,
Who brings me great comfort on which I depend,
He lifts me from pitfall if I tend to descend,
Into darkness; and that which I can’t comprehend.
He desires that I love him and thus all I do,
Is as he has directed for his directions are true.
I hate not, I hurt not, I judge not nor lie,
Nor do I take more than my portion of pie.
I seek not great riches or vanity in fame;
Without the Lord Jesus I am hobbled and lame.
I forgive all my enemies the atrocities they do,
As I hope I’m forgiven for committing them too.
Yes the Lord is my guardian he maketh my day,
So long as I worship, be obedient and pray.
