RUMINATIVE

Priests are men, and do as men will do,
Thus never speak for God.
And men live only, until their body dies,
Then rot beneath the sod.

With pensive thoughts, veterans often brood,
When guilt resides within;
When reflective stress overwhelms the mood
With thoughts of sin.

Let God be God – and God will always do
What a man cannot:
He saved our lives. Because our hearts are true
We were not shot.
