Colin F. Jones

The centre enjoys the crossfire from the fundamentalists,
As he steams ahead towards the beckoning light.
But there are no middle men among the regimentalists;
Thus for the dictatorialists, left and right will fight.
It is so sad and bewildering that all of them,
Seek in their own ways to improve,
With different coloured ink used in the same Pen,
What they have all failed to remove.
Yet no doubt if they all pushed together,
No obstacle would bar their way,
Yet to manufacture such an impossible endeavour,
Would the purpose of its point decay.
Thus conciliation just isn’t clever,
And war is the only way.
