OF THINKERS, COWARDS, AND DEAD HEROES

Better a world of cowards than of dead heroes!
For then there would be no war,
For conflict was the role of the dead heroes,
Who are useless when they are no more.
Fear is the coward’s restrainer
That thoughts of conflict do not increase,
Being the basic satisfying sustainer,
Of an acceptable perpetual peace.
But reality determines that heroes,
Serve the ambitions of dictatorial men,
That cowards are calculated as zeros,
In a scale of zero to ten;
The thinkers, the planners and people,
Who do battle with keyboard and pen.
