Would not the system lie in glowing ashes,
Had not our soldiers marched their way to war,
If our great leaders had not forced the clashes,
Then our current system, we would no doubt deplore.
It was God’s will to throw men into battle,
That peace on Earth await his pledged return,
Are we not just his puppets and his cattle
Who reap no profit lest our foes do burn?
This nation rose from manhood’s blood and fire,
‘Twas build these schools upon the bones of men,
It is not war and killing that we desire,
Yet strength resides not in the critic’s pen.
Tis those who fight not for their system won,
Who’ll reap the folly of seeing nothing done.
