As much as war is part of what life is,
Where man can slaughter his own kind,
The animalistic tendency is his,
Though he might sometimes be kind.
Desperate to curb the savageness we feel,
Knowing it ties us to the instinctive brute;
We make firm laws lest these instincts reveal
That we are no different to the beasts we shoot.
It is survival that is natural to pursue,
For man is in competition with the rest,
Despite his rules his primitiveness comes through,
For nature designs his every active quest.
Tis all dependent on the way we’re taught,
On where we live and the nature of our resort.
