The highs and lows; the fear the dread,
The boredom swimming in his head,
Adrenalin rising like a tide,
Alive and well; and then he died.
Shattered silence; awful din,
A sense of helplessness overpowering him,
And along the bunds the spurts of dust,
Define the Warrior and his trust…
Then silence pouring down like rain;
That one is soaked in still again.
Fear seeping from his veins and mind,
To leave a numb shocked man behind,
Slumping into tired peace,
As the blasting guns to silence cease
