Colin F. Jones

Let us forget every battle and every war,
All the slaughter, all the blood, all the gore.
For that which is remembered we will repeat,
Maintaining a trauma we cannot defeat.

Why celebrate bad memories every year?
Clinging to painful thought and bitter tear,
Let us forget; let us forget all that we saw,
Lest we relive the atrocities of foul war.
