JOHN JOSEPH McCLOUD

I know you are a gentleman my friend
A man who keeps his cool until the end,
Who does for others what he thinks he can,
For you have the pride of a fighting man.
I know your sadness makes you feel alone,
Your loss is great: that chills you to the bone.
But yet your soul hears the trumpet call,
Responds to duty that you stand up tall,
For a Warrior will his brothers ever crave,
Who wear the badge of glory who are brave,
And serve their nation with the will to win,
That all who know will have respect for him.
In this brief way I salute you my good friend,
For on men like you the free world must depend.
