IN THE END

In the end what have we done,
What did the war achieve?
One loss of life and we’ve not won,
With one widow made to grieve.
Why do we allow one man such power,
That he can force a state to war,
Who can spy on folk each hour,
And paint fear on every door.
Grant inflexible laws unfair,
That few can afford to fight
Enforced revenue everywhere,
That is wrong, because it isn’t right!
Why let hard won freedom die,
For the convenience of humble pie.
