Fear warns a person of threat,
As to shiver warns us of cold.
Thus caution avoids regret;
Allows the young to always grow old.
Without fear we would never survive.
It humbles the weak and the strong
And keeps many people alive,
Be their purpose right or wrong.
Faith does not cancel the shell,
Nor deny the soldier a grave.
It does not save them from hell
Nor distinguish the dead from the brave.
Tis one thing to dream and believe:
Quite another to expect to receive.
