FROM SOMEWHERE IN VIETNAM

In my far away mind a picture is formed,
Memories so pure that my heart is warmed,
Over the wide sea is my Australian home,
Where rivers meander and Wallabies roam.
Where the wild forests spread under a sky,
That is as blue as the truth of God’s living eye.
Where my family’s seeds are sown in the ground,
And the soul of my being is spiritually bound.
Oh how I long for my home, my Mother and wife,
My brothers and sisters, my father and life,
Along the long beaches, through city streets,
Where freedom and progress sweet liberty meets,
To inspire in our hearts good will to all men,
Described through the ink of the poetical pen.
