That world we fight for we will never see,
Those dreams we had will never be fulfilled,
We claim it’s for our children to be free,
That for their lives others lives we killed.
Yet all we leave behind us when we die,
Is a world in which our children in their turn,
For their own children for that same freedom vie,
That repeated history is all the child will earn.
Why do we believe the rhetoric of our tongues
That promise what we know we’ll not receive,
Encased in laws that do not punish wrongs
Of those above the goodness we perceive?
For all those dreams we had they’ll have them too,
Our children thinking that they’ll all come true.
