Quick to profit generals seek out God,
To justify that which they know is sin,
And stepping over bodies on the sod,
Declare His will is that their soldiers win.
Both foe and enemy cast away account,
Duty bound to serve their absent Lord,
Which lessens the obstructions to surmount,
Sedating criticism they cannot afford.
We call on God to make our actions right,
Because our hearts are so filled with doubt,
But God hears not mans capricious plight,
And leaves him to himself to work it out.
We may choose God but the Lord God’s choice,
Is not subservient to a vain mans voice.
