At Christmas we celebrate the birth of Jesus,
Though we are not sure of the true day,
Because he came to us for good reason,
Though he never intended to stay.
If I could wish for anything I wanted,
I’d wish that he’d return to Earth once more,
And put an end to all the suffering,
Bring peace instead of war.
I’d not ask him to fill my stocking,
Nor to make my sad heart glad,
Just that he might make life less shocking,
And make good all that is bad.
Yeah, that’s what I would wish for Christmas,
One that none have ever had.
