Colin F. Jones

Soldiers have no option; they are forced to fight,
Whether it be wrong or it be right,
And those lying dead there in the sod,
Died not for Nation and not for God,
They died for their brothers and their mates,
Regardless of what some Padre states,
They fought to survive as best they could,
Shedding for each other lots of blood,
So don’t insult me with flags and Kings,
Gods and Angels and other such things,
Such ignorance makes me feel quite sick,
For who states it different is a hick,
Who learned nothing from the war at all,
Lest he saw not his brothers fall.
