BOREDOM

Boredom is the soldiers rest,
Between the battles of his quest,
When fear is dormant in his eyes,
His ears filled with comrades cries…
That echo still in stagnant air,
By smoke polluted everywhere.
It is the lull; expectant storm,
The letter that his son was born,
The waiting; waiting for the sound,
For shells and bombs to hit the ground.
And every moment that he thinks,
Into greater boredom his mind sinks.
For idle times spent hard at work,
Battlefield boredom cannot shirk.
