They called us baby killers; were they right?
Where did our rounds fall? I dunno,
Most times our victims weren’t in sight,
We just shoved the round in, and let it go!!
I recall that ambush… but they weren’t kids,
Just folk with AK’s dressed in black,
Shapely lasses young and nice…
Who all died there in that attack.
The grunts out there who had it worse,
Had some blokes among them filled with hate,
Who loved to kill and swear and curse,
Feared by their own serving mate.
But I dunno how many babies died…
But I know a lot of blokes who died inside.
